Last Saturday night’s fourth running of Ladies Night at Arunga Park Speedway in Alice Springs was judged a huge success with competitors and spectators alike embracing the annual event.

The Ladies Night event, which began in 2015 has grown to become one of the highlights of the Arunga Park calendar with numbers growing in each class over the years. The 2018 edition of Ladies Night was made up of female competitors competing in three classes on the night: Ladies 90cc Quads, Ladies Race Quads and Ladies Burnouts.

The Ladies 90cc Quads has been the latest class added to the roster for this year and with all bikes in the class being so equal, it was always going to be close, exciting racing. Taking out the win was Bronnie Chapman ahead of Katie Bromley in second and Nina Kells in third.

In the Ladies Race Quads, quality racing has been seen over the years, given the bikes are so similar in speed, and this year’s event was no different. In the final, Natalie Mahomet proved too strong and recorded the win from Kim Seymour and Bronnie Chapman in second and third place respectively.

In the Ladies Burnouts section, it was Kells who claimed the top spot and, along with her third place in the 90cc quads, finished off the night on a strong note. Second was Seymour, while third was claimed by Emma Bell.

Other winners on the night were Lauchlin Cole (Sprintcars), Richard Hawkins (Wingless Sprints), Jarrad Wilcox (Formula 500s), Simon Nicol (Bombers), Rod Berry (Street Stocks), Shane Greening (Junior Sedans - All Stars) and Mitchell Sanders (Junior Sedans - Rising Stars).
